Oceanic Scenes of Laguna Beach!

Being a resident of Southern California I've come to enjoy the beach.  Being born in Houston Texas I'm use to warm beach waters with it also being very murky. I really wanted viewers to see and appreciate the beauty I do when I see the waters of Southern California.

Sleeping Beauty and her Magical Wheel!

Finally after a week of procrastinating, side projects, and sheer laziness I finally completed creating another piece of art based on fictional icons. "To Prick a Beauties Finger" is of course based upon sleeping beauty! This work was just as fun creating as making the previous painting based on snow white. Each piece was created with the ideal of the character in mind. Snow white had an apple which led to her sleeping curse. While sleeping beauty had a spinning wheel which led to her sleeping curse. Although this project is completed I still posses inspiration for my next piece based upon Cinderella. Even though the cinder girl never circame to a curse she did loose pieces of herself as victims of abuse and humiliation encounter. After Five more works of art (1. Two Ocean works 2. Sleeping Beauty Part II 3.Marie Antoinette 4.Ferdinand Magellan)  I will continue making works based on disney characters. Stay tuned for more works of art to come which will be just as appealing as Sleeping Beauty!

The Life Guard!

After visiting San Francisco and talking with my artist friends about new art techniques I became inspired to try something new. After re-entering the art world I realized I wanted my art subjects to be divided into museum/ gallery body of works vs commercial/establishment artworks. “The Life Guard” will defiantly be an establishment work. The only thing left with this work is to add the resin coating.

San Francisco Art

This week I took a trip to San Francisco! I explored  the wonders of food, friends and of course the changes in the art world! The art of San Francisco's changed since I lived there. Graffiti art and portraiture are thriving in the bay area. Overall art of northern and southern Californian art are as different as twins. In my experience northern Californian art is more conceptual and abstract while southern Californian art is more literal and self explanatory.
