About me fact #2! My favorite painting is starry night! Van Gogh captured turbulence (unsteady movement of air) much like the violent storm featured in Jupiter’s Great Red Spot. ⠀

Current work in progress just for fun! This photo was taken two years prior to covid. This little beauty is my Niece! She learned the valuable lesson of peer pressure this day when I told her her sister couldn’t play in the chick fil a play pin until after she finished some of her nuggets. She is the most picky eater I’ve ever known. What kid doesn’t like chicken nuggets?

TBT to Remembrance

This throw back Thursday image is a reflection on the first artwork I made after a year hiatus from art. Throughout my art career I’ve taken a total of 3 hiatuses from art as a result of relocating . This art card “Remembrance” is a sympathy card I made for a friend after encountering a family loss. The inside possessed a poem which read “Although the earth is less dazzling with loss remember the heavens gained a new star that shines brighter than the rest with radiance and grace.

Let's Have Coffee!!!

In isolation, we are closer than ever through social media. Although the circumstances are daunting COVID-19 has taught us to value the importance of connection. As well as dedicating our time to knowledge nourishment. As we continue our journey through isolation I wanted to give you the gift of art. My drawing “Let’s have coffee ” features coffee otherwise known as a euphoric beverage in my family. No matter the time of day coffee connected my family for decades. It was there for the simple, hard, and enlightening conversations with brothers, mothers, and friends. While we continue to prioritize connection remember to reach out to those we always had a desire to connect with. From my home to yours I invite you to share the zenith of all beverages. Reaching out is always easier with a cup of coffee.
Enjoy your free work of art!

Re Introduction!!!

My name is Brittany! I’m a Houston artist that attended the Academy of art university. As a child, I was fascinated with the magic and wonders of space. With my body of work, I strive to en volk the nostalgic feelings of youth while also bringing attention to the disposable mentality of society such as out with the old and in with the new. Using obsolete iPads as a substrate, paper collage, found objects, acrylic paint, and mediums narratives of the planets are composted documenting a moment frozen in time. The iPads stand as a reminder that eventually they will be replaced as many paper sources have when they become obsolete. Moments as a child were experienced to the fullest because distractions weren’t prevalent. With my work, I strive to challenge the viewer to acknowledge our disposable mentality in hopes of cherishing the movement while in it instead of chasing fleeting moments when there gone.
Thank you for reading, Brittany
