"Shackles of The American Dream" is my latest art piece to be created for an art submission based upon Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. "Shackles of The American Dream" depicts the chauvinistic ideals of women based upon the male ideal. Throughout history, women were hindered due to the male ideal. Women of the ’20s, ’30s, and ’40s were viewed as property; inferior and fragile. The male ideal was the only ideal that mattered because masculinity was the key to dominance. The expectations of women were enslaving. Although the male idea exists in contemporary society; it doesn’t discourage women from accomplishing their goals. Women of the 21st century know who they are, what they want, and some are even comfortable with their bodies. The birth of the new age woman began with the death of the modern woman.
