Happy Thursday Everyone! For my TBT image I decided to go with one of my old photography pieces. When I was younger I became interested in photography as much as fine art. At the age of seventeen I began to borrow my fathers camera and photograph compositional subjects. In 2008 after my father purchased a professional SLR camera for me, I photographed one of the most powerful photos I've ever taken. September 14, 2009 Hurricane Ike occurred in Houston. "After Ike" reflects the devastation of the day after the storm. My next door neighbor (shown in the photo below) was without hot water and electricity for a week, and had countless branches and debris in his yard. Nevertheless everyone was grateful that the storm was mild compared to precious hurricanes such as Katrina .
