“Kaleidoscope Barrage ”

Kaleidoscope Barrage was inspired by an abstract clipping in a magazine. I used acrylic, clear gesso, ink, iridescent pastel, foil, paper collage, and iridescent rainbow glitter.
I began the composition by coating the canvas with foil attaching it with a heavy matte medium. After the foil is attached I added clear gesso to give the foil a grip for the future layers, later adding the collage pieces with a matte medium following. Once the layers dried I added the glitter layer, followed by the beginning process of the drawings of the planets and kaleidoscope facets creating a push and pull effect by painting over some of the collaged pieces.
