Soon I will begin showing sketches of my upcoming series along with the completion of Prism Barriers and Anastasia. Hello Everybody, Yesterday was a day full of painting, exploring, and research. I found many wonderful things I would like to share. Yesterday after painting for the day I realized I needed a stamp for a texture effect for her amulet. My hunt for the stamp began with Michaels, then Hobby Lobby, finishing in Joann's. Although each store didn't have what I needed I did find cool items for the future. First up Schmincke Medium W! I've never used this medium before but I'm very excited to use it. For item number two I found these awesome rulers from tom Holtz. I plan to use in the painting I showed yesterday! The Last and final photo is another Tim Holtz item! Holtz Distress Maker Spritzer I found from Hobby Lobby half off! I haven't used this tool before either, but I think it would be very useful with collages. If anyone have used any of these mediums please let me know what you think of them. Also Stay tuned for more art progressions of Anastasia as well as a video of her creation. Hello Everyone,
Last night I decided to take a pit stop break from making my Anastasia painting. I became inspired to make a new work of art after seeing an open call for collage art. I've had an idea for a long time to make a painting based upon a story I've heard from my friend. My friend experienced a stereotypical situation which was based upon adults and gender ideals of young children. This story alone sparked my visual imagination of what people expect of genders. Ideals such as boys can't wear pink, girls are suppose to be lady's ect ect. This side project will be a art experiment for me I plan to explore ideas of layers through pouring acrylic medium, spray paint, and transparent sheets. I can't wait to show everyone progression photos as I go hopefully along with video journals. Also don't forget to subscribe to my blog in the column to the right. Happy Friday,
today I have a progression photo of Anastasia. This painting has been different from the others I've painted this far. The color combinations are so different from my normal color pallet that I had to customize the colors and stylize her wardrobe. Although this isn't the first time I've stylized my characters this is the first time it was dictated based upon the color pallet. Stylizing the clothing and color pallet helps the composition to flow. Soon I'll add a creation video to show how create my paintings.Stay tuned for more art progressions of Anastasia as well as a video of her creation.
