Unique Art

"Jurassic Earth" invites you to travel back in time to the majestic era when dinosaurs roamed a lush, evolving planet. This original acrylic mixed media painting by Houston artist Brittany Ellis captures the wonder of the Jurassic Period with rich textures, earthy tones, and intricate 2D and 3D elements.

What makes this piece truly unique is its fusion of science and emotion. Created using acrylic, ink, glitter, and sculpted texture paste, this artwork doesn't just depict a moment in Earth's past—it celebrates the powerful feeling of connection and timelessness. Whether displayed in a home, office, or science classroom, this Jurassic-themed painting serves as a striking reminder of Earth's deep history and the awe-inspiring creatures that once ruled it.

Herstory

The Jurassic Period, spanning from about 201 to 145 million years ago, is one of the most iconic eras in Earth's geological history. Known as the "Age of Dinosaurs," this period witnessed the rise and dominance of large dinosaurs such as Brachiosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Allosaurus. It also saw the first appearance of birds, marking a crucial step in the evolution of life.

During the Jurassic, the supercontinent Pangaea began to break apart, creating shallow seas and diverse ecosystems that supported a flourishing variety of plant and animal life. Lush forests of conifers, cycads, and ferns covered the land, providing habitats for many prehistoric creatures.
