Unique Art
"The Glaciered Snowball Earth" features 2D (ink, glitter and acrylic ) and 3D elements (sculpted paste). Snowball Earth is one of the most interesting periods within Earths history where the planet experienced an extreme ice age with ice spanning from poll to poll.
Herstory
Snowball Earth refers to several hypothesized global glaciation events that occurred during the Neoproterozoic Era, roughly 720 to 635 million years ago. During these extreme ice ages, it is believed that Earth's surface was almost entirely frozen, with glaciers reaching near the equator. This phenomenon represents one of the most dramatic climate events in our planet’s history.
Despite the freezing conditions, life persisted in isolated pockets—possibly under the ice or around hydrothermal vents—highlighting the incredible resilience of early microbial ecosystems. These harsh conditions may have triggered evolutionary pressures that later led to the rise of complex multicellular life during the Ediacaran and Cambrian periods.
